First I suggest doing your research on LS1tech or maybe through a GM High Tech magazine before you make your final choice on what supercharger you plan on putting under your hood. This is a very big decision, let me tell you why. You will be gaining a more horsepower after your supercharge your engine(60-100+hp).Thus creating a lot of strain on the rear end and transmission. You might want to first bulk up your rear end and your transmission before you go down this route, not to mention the engine. Most engines that are in the Camaro are high compression, which means they can't take much more pressure inside the engine. You are going to have to change your heads and maybe get forged pistons. It really depends on how much boost you plan on going with.
I suggest doing all this to get your car just right. You can go without a few of these things, but your Camaro might not be to stable when you run it. You really have to do your research. I hope this article has helped you! Some good names to go with are either Procharger or Vortech Superchargers. These are companies that make good centrifugal superchargers. Check them out when you get a chance! |
